Chris has guided MarylandSaves, the American College of Physicians, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, Falcon AeroLab, Future Ready Schools, the Boy Scouts of America, the Naval Institute, the American Hotel & Lodging Association and the National Association of REALTORS through this process to successful solution. Chris has served as the Chief Marketing Officer and lead institutional marketing executive for The Johns Hopkins University, and developed the university’s brand positioning, while working with internal and external partners to create philanthropic message strategies for financial aid fundraising, and capital campaign positioning and naming and case statement writing.
Prior to the university, Chris was the founder and principal for a marketing consultancy supporting various clients in developing and executing strategic marketing and communications plans in distance learning, hospitality and technology industries. Chris was the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for the independent $1.5B American Legacy Foundation where his teams created and executed the most effective and highly recognized cause marketing campaign in public health history. The campaigns included $100M of annual media placement, grassroots marketing, strategic alliances and government affairs, winning several AMA Effie Awards, a Grand Effie and an Emmy for a Super Bowl PSA. Chris has been an advertising agency principal and group account head for a $150M full-service advertising agency and the lead partner for public relations.
